Texas Rangers Rumors: Seeking veteran first baseman like Paul Konerko or Russell Branyan?
By
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says that the Rangers may be looking for a veteran first baseman to a be stop gap until Justin Smoak or Chris Davis establish themselves as the future first baseman of the franchise.
Rosenthal suggests that the White Sox Paul Konerko or the Indian’s Russell Branyan could be candidates to be that stop gap. Konerko may be too expensive for the Rangers with Branyan being the cheaper choice. However, in either case, the team will have to answer to higher powers as they deal with their current bankruptcy.
