According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports, Houston Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt could be the best starting pitcher available at the trade deadline. It would require some work on both sides to make something happen.

Rosenthal says that Oswalt could be available if the Astros’ ownership is willing to move him, if Oswalt is willing to waive his no trade clause and if some team is willing to take on the rest of Oswalt’s contract.

Oswalt is currently making $15 million in 2010, $16 million in 2011 and there is a $16 million team option for 2012 with a $2 million buyout. You can see Oswalt’s statistics and contract history here.
