Thomas Harding of MLB.com speculates that Kazuo Matsui could find his way back to the Colorado Rockies if he clears waivers. Harding says, “if he clears waivers, it’s fair to say the Rockies have reason to be intrigued.”

Matsui was released by the Houston Astros yesterday.

Matsui’s could add depth to the Rockies and spell Clint Barmes if he continues to struggle offensively and defensively.

The Astros’ second baseman had begun the season with a .141 average, and most recently, a 1-31 skid which culminated in his departure. You can see his complete stats here.
