Larry Larue of The News Tribune suggests that Hank Blalock could be an option for the Seattle Mariners.

The 29-year-old DH/third baseman is currently playing for the Tampa Bay Rays Triple-A team and in his first 20 games, he’s batted .388 with three home runs and 21 RBIs.

Larue adds that the Rays are not currently shopping Blalock. Rather, they’re keeping him around for insurance against injury and possibly a future trade chip that the team could use later this summer.
