Frank Catalanotto Retirement Rumors: 14 year career done?
By
According to the New York Daily News, former New York Mets Frank Catalanotto is likely headed for retirement.
“I don’t necessarily know that it came as a surprise – I wasn’t getting a chance to play much. I knew eventually it may happen, especially if I wasn’t helping the team out and producing,” said Catalanotto, who was 4-for-25 (.160) in 25 games. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. Chances are this is the end of my career.”
Catalanotto was designated for assignment on Tuesday. Catalanotto, 36, is a lifetime .291/.357/.445 hitter in 14 Major League seasons with the Tigers, Rangers, Blue Jays, Brewers and Mets. You can see Catalanotto’s statistics here.
