Bengie Molina Retirement Rumors: To hang it up after 2010?

Bengie Molina

5/3 12:37: Now Bengie Molina may not retire next year…. According to Fox Sports’ Jim Bowden (via tweeter) Giants manager Bruce Bochy say Molina was just “Posturing.” He adds that Molina has to much game left in him to retire after the year.

5/1 19:28: According to Sean Farnham of FOXSports Radio, Bengie Molina of the San Francisco Giants is likely to retire after this season. Farnham says that Molina is frustrated with the way the Buster Posey situation has been handled.

Posey is the Giant’s future catcher, and will probably assume day-to-day duties starting with the 2011 season. The team brought Molina back for one-year to bridge that gap until Posey is ready.

Molina, 35, will make $4.5 million this season on a one-year contract. You can see Molina’s contract history and statistics here.
