“Stick it, A-Rod.” Those were the words out of Dallas Braden’s grandma, Peggy Lindsey, when asked about her grandson’s arch enemy. You bet that she’ll be in the stands on July 5-7 when the Yankees come back to Oakland for a three-game series and Alex Rodriguez can personally congratulate Braden on his perfect game.

Rodriguez was told about Braden’s perfection before his game with the Red Sox today, and he said, “I’ve learned in my career, it is much better to be recognized for all the great things you do on the field. Good for him, he threw a perfect game. And better yet, he beat the Rays.”

He didn’t add anything else when he was told about Grandma Braden’s words. Rather he responded “Uncle.”

Grandma Braden, we applaud you for backing up your grandson.
