5/25 01:54: We all knew that Washington Nationals Stephen Strasburg memorabilia was going to be hot, but this eBay auction is ridiculous. His 2010 Bowman Chrome Superfractor serial numbered 1/1 has a current bid of $10,499.00 at the time of this writing with a little less than five days to go. In case you’re wondering, the autograph isn’t even real – it’s a stamp facsimile.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says that the Rangers may be looking for a veteran first baseman to a be stop gap until Justin Smoak or Chris Davis establish themselves as the future first baseman of the franchise.
Rosenthal suggests that the White Sox Paul Konerko or the Indian’s Russell Branyan could be candidates to be that stop gap. Konerko may be too expensive for the Rangers with Branyan being the cheaper choice. However, in either case, the team will have to answer to higher powers as they deal with their current bankruptcy.
Arizona Diamondbacks rumors: Trading Dan Haren or Edwin Jackson?

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says that the Arizona Diamondbacks have internally discussed trading their ace, Dan Haren or their number two pitcher, Edwin Jackson.
Rosenthal notes that the combined salary of both pitchers would jump from $12.8 million to about $20.5 million in 2011 – a salary too high for the Diamondbacks to afford.
Corey Hart Rumors: Trade to Giants, Padres or Athletics?

According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, the Milwaukee Brewer’s have drawn interest for outfielder Corey Hart. Rosenthal says the Giants, Padres and Athletics could be candidates for the outfielder.
In return for Hart, the Brewers would want starting pitching. Rosenthal says the Giants are unlikely to trade any starting pitcher and their outfield is getting crowded.
As for the Padres and A’s, Rosenthal says both teams want to improve their overall health and get a better gauge on their actual chances before they make any external moves.
One thing to note is that Hart will be under team control through the 2011 season, so that may be plus side for a cost conscious team that is built to make a run this year and next year.
Vicente Padilla Rumors: Call to Denver hotel for domestic violence issues?

, Denver police were called to a hotel near the Colorado Rockies stadium due to a domestic violence call at 3:51 a.m. A women called the police, but it is unknown what her relationship to Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Vicente Padilla was.
The police said that there is no evidence that Padilla committed a crime and he has been cooperating with investigators. Padilla was never placed into custody.
The Dodgers are in town to play the Colorado Rockies this weekend.

Posted by: | CommentsHere’s a video of Cleveland Indians pitcher David Huff being struck in the head by Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez’s line drive in today’s game:

According to the Associated Press, Huff immediately fell to the ground and lay still on his stomach after Rodriguez’s hit struck him above the left eye. Huff was taken off the field on a cart.
Trainers from both teams and players on the field ran to the mound. Rodriguez took a knee behind the mound and slammed his helmet. He remained there with his head bowed for a minute before going into the dugout.
Huff gave a thumbs up and raised a hand to a huge ovation while being carted off the field.
