Yankees place Chan Ho Park on 15-day disabled list

By Allan

Chan Ho ParkAndy McCullough of The Star-Ledge says that Yankees have placed reliever Chan Ho Park on the 15-day disabled list due to a “real, real low-level” strain on his right hamstring. In his place, the team has called up Boone Logan from Triple-A Scranton.

“There’s a possibility that he would have pitched for us next week,” manager Joe Girardi said. “But you run your bullpen short and the other thing that you do is you take the chance of hurting it worse.”

Park will rest three or four days then get back to a workout routine. The right-hander experienced a hamstring injury last season, but he says the strain he has now is not in the same spot.

“At my age,” Park said. “You have to be very careful.”

Park, 36, is 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA in 3 appearances with the Yankees this year. You can see Park’s career statistics here.
