Catcher Chad Moeller was signed by the New York Yankees to a Minor League contract. He will likely be sent to the Minor Leagues to backup Jesus Montero according to Chad Jennings of The Journal News.

Moeller, 35, was a popular figure in the Orioles’ clubhouse in 2009 when he hit .258 with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs in 30 games for the team. He was released by the Orioles on April 1. You can see Moeller’s contract details and statistics here.

Jennings also adds that outfielder Marcus Thames has made the Big League roster. The team also signed utilityman Robby Hammock and will open the season at Triple-A.
