The Pioneer Press says that it would not be surprising if the Minnesota Twins trade center field prospect Ben Revere to the San Diego Padres for closer Heath Bell. Revere had an impressive Spring Training with a .310 average (13 for 42), three doubles, one triple, four RBIs and two stolen bases, but was sent to the Minor Leagues last week.

Revere, 21, can hit, get on base and score runs. He does not have much power nor has a cannon of arm. He’ll have to be a centerpiece in any trade between the Twins and Padres.

Other trade candidates include Aaron Hicks and Wilson Ramos.

The Twins will start the season using a closer by committee, but if that fails, the team will likely make an aggressive deal to get a closer.
