Gil Meche Trade Rumors: To the Dodgers, Mets or Phillies?

By Allan

Ryan Young of The Kansas City Star tells us that Gil Meche will make his first start of the year today with the Royals after coming back from bursitis in his piching shoulder. If he can prove to others that he has overcome his injury, Royal’s GM Dayton Moore could have a chance to move Meche.

Meche is making $11 million per season in 2010 and 2011, and according to ESPN Insider, teams like the Dodgers, Mets or Phillies could be interested in the right-hander to add depth to their starting rotations.

Meche, 31, has not pitched a regular season game since August 29, 2009. He was 6-10 with a 5.09 ERA in 23 starts for the Royals last season. You can see Meche’s contract history and statistics here.
