According to the Associated Press, the Toronto Blue Jays have signed outfielder Adam Lind to a four-year, $18 million contract.

“It will mean a lot for my parents, for my future kids, just so they can do what they want and they can go to the schools that they want and they can breathe for the rest of their lives,” Lind said.

The deal includes a $600,000 signing bonus, a $400,000 base salary for 2010 and $5 million each season for 2011-2013.

Lind, 26, hit .305 with 35 home runs and 114 RBIs in 2009. You can see Lind’s statistics here.
