A-Rod jetting in and out of Miami to spend time with Cameron Diaz?

The New York Post reports that actress Cameron Diaz flew to Miami last week and spent time at Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez’s bungalow at the W South Beach Residences. Although Rodriguez has been busy playing baseball, he’s managed to spend time with Diaz in Miami. The Post’s source said he’s been known to jet “in and out of Miami all the time.”
It was reported last week by Life and Style magazine says that Rodriguez and actress Diaz have been secretly dating following a meeting at a Super Bowl party in February. The magazine says, “they’ve been keeping it quiet, but they’re totally together.”
When photographers weren’t around, “they were all over each other at the (Super Bowl) party.” The magazine goes on to say that “Cameron had her hands all over Alex’s back, and they were dancing together.”

Indians to activate Brayan, send Brantley to Triple-A

According to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, the Cleveland Indians have sent rookie left fielder Michael Brantley to Triple-A Columbus to make room for veteran outfielder Russell Branyan. Castrovince says the Indians plan to activate Branyan before Tuesday’s series versus the Minnesota Twins.
The plan is to give Branyan regular time at first base and shift Matt LaPorta to left field.
During Branyan’s rehab assignment, he went a combined .273 (6-for-22) with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored for both Triple-A Columbus and Double-A Akron.
Brantley, 22, was hitting .156 (5-for-32) with one double, three RBIs and four runs scored in nine games. You can see Brantley’s statistics here.
Mets prospect Ike Davis to be in lineup today
Posted by: | CommentsAccording to Matthew Cerrone of MetsBlog, New York’s prospect Ike Davis will be in the lineup tonight versus the Chicago Cubs.
Davis was scratched from his Triple-A Buffalo game today. He was hitting .364 in 10 games with the Minor League team.
Many have questioned why Davis was called up several weeks into the season. By calling him up this late, he will not acquire enough Major League service time during the 2010 season to constitute a full year of service, so he will continue to be under the Met’s control for another year, as opposed to being eligible for free agency.
Phillies vomiter should be on American Idol
Posted by: | CommentsWe can’t let the Matt Clemmens story die. It’s a horrible, horrible, horrible thing to vomit on an eleven year old girl. Actually, it’s horrible to vomit on anybody.
Clemmens turned a fun day at the ballpark into an abusive and disruptive day for many Phillies fans. He was eventually charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, harassment, resisting arrest and related offenses with his bail set at $12,000.
While he waits for his court date, here’s a You Tube video of the suspect singing a classic Madonna song. American Idol? You be the judge!
Pablo Sandoval and his flying athletic cup

Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury recently received an email from a Bay Area News Group photographer with an amusing story about Pablo Sandoval and his athletic cup.
Apparently at the bottom of the 12th inning of the Giant’s home opening against the Braves, Karl Mondon was sitting in the photo well on the 3rd base side of the diamond getting ready to shoot Eli Whiteside at the plate then all of a sudden something hit the photographer on the head. That something was Pablo Sandoval’s athletic cup.
Mondon explains that Sandoval seemed uncomfortable at third base. The slugger started to fuss with his belt and before Mondon knew it, a flying blue projectile hit him and landed right beside him along with a few gasps and groans from the fans nearby.
Luckily Mondon was wearing a hat and he did not have to deal with the aftermath. Trainer Dave Groeschner came over and retrieved Sandoval’s “radioactive glory.”
I’ll keep my opinions and “Panda” jokes to myself.
What do you do after you pitch a no-hitter? Run six miles!
Posted by: | Comments
If you pitched a no-hitter, what would you do? Most of us do not have to worry about that problem, but just in case you’re wondering what a pitcher would do, just ask Ubaldo Jimenez.
Jimenez pitched the Colorado Rockies first no-hitter in franchise history on Saturday night and according to the Associated Press after two hours of sleep, the pitcher ran six miles in the streets of Atlanta and wondered if the no-hitter really happened.
“It was like a wonderful dream I was having,” Jimenez said. “If it was reality or a dream, it was wonderful.”
He was savoring his pitching gem throughout Sunday.
“It was great to see our team there and to see all the guys jumping around and having a good time,” he said. “You never know when it’s going to happen again. You have to enjoy the moment.”
The no-no occurred in the franchises’ 2,703rd game. Hopefully it won’t be another 18 years before the Rockies see another one.
