• Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times talks about Dodgers’ outfielder Matt Kemp venturing into the world of modeling when he posed in different outfits for GQ magazine.. He was working with fashion photographer Michel Comte for four hours.
• Barry Zito of the San Francisco Giants plunked Brewers’ slugger Prince Fielder in the first inning of their Cactus League game. It was in retaliation for Fielder’s choreographed home-plate celebration last September. Fielder’s teammates fell as if they were bowling pins when he reached home plate. (Chris Haft, MLB.com)

• According to Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, Cuban left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman had an impressive outing for the Reds. In an intrasquad game he pitched one inning, with one hit, one hit batsman and two strikeouts.
• Kelly Thessier of MLB.com says that new Twins – Jim Thome, J.J. Hardy and Orlando Hudson will make their debut on Friday.
• Jorge Arangure of ESPN tweets, “Cuban Jose Julio Ruiz’s negotations likely to be complicated now that source confirms he’s switched agents.Now represented by Legacy Sports.”
