3/30 15:34: Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says that the Tigers will pay $9.6 million of the remaining $10 miillion on Robertson’s deal.
3/30 11:45: According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Florida Marlins ahve acquired left-handed pitcher Nate Robertson from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for left-handed pitching prospect Jay Voss and cash.
Frisaro later adds via Twitter that the Marlins are going ot pay the minimum $400,000.
It’s been rumored for a few days that the Tigers have been shopping Robertson and were willing to eat portions of his contract in order to move him. The PRO Rumors contract database shows that Robertson is due $10 million in 2010 – the final year of his three year deal.
In 28 games (6 starts) in 2009, Robertson was 2-3 with a 5.44 ERA. You can see Robertson’s contract details and statistics here.
