3/15 17:40 According to Piecoro, contract break down is: $1 million signing bonus. He’ll be paid $500,000 in 2010, $5 million in 2011, $7.5 million in 2012. There’s a team option for 2013 for $14.5 million with a $500,000 buyout.
Steve Gilbert of MLB.com adds that there is a limited no-trade clause in the contract.
3/15 12:11 According to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Mark Reynolds have agreed to terms on a three-year, $14.5 million deal with an $11 million option for 2013.
Reynolds would have been eligible for salary arbitration in 2011. A couple of executives suggest Prince Fielder and Dan Uggla as comparable players to Reynolds. Fielder received $18 million in his first two years of eligibility while Uggla has made $13.2 million over that same time.
Reynolds hit .260 with 44 home runs, 102 RBIs and 24 stolen bases in 2009 with the Diamondbacks. You can see Reynold’s statistics here.
