Cleveland Indians sign RHP Tom Mastny to a Minor League contract
ByAccording to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, right-handed pitcher Tom Mastny has signed a Minor League contract with the Cleveland Indians and will report to the Minor League camp on Tuesday.
Mastny pitched for the Yokohama Bay Stars in the Japanese Central League in 2009. He went 1-5 with a 5.69 ERA in 15 games. Castrovince says the Indians sold his contract to Yokohama in the Winter following the 2008 season.
Mastny, 29, has a career 9-5 record with a 6.13 ERA in three seasons with the Indians. He is best remembered for his 4 1/3 innings of scoreless work in Game 2 of the 2007 ALCS against the Boston Red Sox. You can see Mastny’s statistics here.
