-Did Aroldis Chapman open the gates for other Cuban players to defect from Cuba with aspirations of playing in the Major Leagues?  Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports that many Cuban born players are seeking the opportunity of making an impact on a MLB team.

-The Mets have called the Padres inquiring about what it would take to land Adrian Gonzalez according to Jon Heyman of SI.com.  The Padres are reportedly looking for major league ready talent as well as numerous top prospects.

-Ozzie Guillen recently told Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, “We plan to have Gordon for a long time,” Guillen said. “I don’t see why people talk about it.” These comments were in reaction to a question about Gordon Beckhams future with the team.  It was recently reported when Chicago inquired about Adrian Gonzalez, the initial asking price started with Beckham as the center piece.  The talks quickly dwindled.
