White Sox release Freddie Bynum

According to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago White Sox have released Freddy Bynum. Gonzales says that Bynum will pursue opportunities in Japan.

Bynum, 30 in March, has not played in the Major Leagues since 2008 with the Baltimore Orioles. He is a career .234 hitter with 6 career home runs and 32 RBIs. You can see Bynum’s complete statistics here.
