• The Nationals are looking for a veteran starting pitcher, but they want the free-agent pitcher to come at them at the right price. Don’t look for the Nats to break the bank for John Smoltz or Jarrod Washburn.
• Center fielder Nyjer Morgan acknowledged that he needs to improve his batting average against left-handed pitching. He hit .175 with 1 home run and 12 RBIs against left-handers.
• Right-handed pitcher Craig Stammen is willing to be a starter or reliever in 2010, but he is going into Spring Training believing that he will be a starter.
• Pitcher Jason Marquis, catcher Ivan Rodriguez and third baseman Ryan Zimmerman — reiterated Sunday how much they want free-agent second baseman Orlando Hudson on the team. (source MLB.com)
