Wandy Rodriguez loses arbitration case to Astros

2/18 09:09: According to Alyson Footer of MLB.com, she tweets, “The arbitor ruled in favor of the Astros. Wandy Rodriguez will earn $5 million in 2010. The hearing took place in St. Pete yesterday.”

2/18 03:44: According to the Associated Press, Houston Astros’ left-handed pitcher Wandy Rodriguez and the team went to an arbitration hearing on Wednesday and the verdict is expected on today. Rodriguez is asking for $7 million and the Astros have offered $5 million.

Rodriguez, 31, was 14-12 with a 3.02 ERA in 33 starts with the Astros in 2009. He made $2.6 million last season. You can see Rodriguez’s contract history and statistics here.
