According to Curtis Kitchen of 810WHB.com, the Kansas City Royals have signed right-handed pitcher Victor Marte and infielder Jeff Bianchi. Royals Review adds that both deals are believed to be split contracts with the Major League portion at or near the $400,000 minimum.
Marte, 29, made his Major League debut with the Royals in 2009. In 8 games he had a 0-0 record with 8.25 ERA in 12 innings pitched. You can see Marte’s statistics here.
Bianchi, 23, batted .308 in 128 games at Northwest Arkansas and Class A Wilmington.
