According to Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star, the Kansas City Royals have reached one-year agreements with infielder Mike Aviles and right-handed pitcher Anthony Lerew. Dutton says that the terms are not available, but they are believed to be less than $500,000.
Aviles, 29 in March, is a lifetime .293 hitter with 11 career home runs and 59 career RBIs. You can see Aviles’ contract history and statistics here.
