- According to Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post, veteran first baseman Todd Helton says that he need more rest to be more effective in 2010. Helton said, “I had nothing left at the end of the year.” The Rockies brought back first baseman Jason Giambi to allow Helton to stay fresh throughout the year.
- Andrew Baggarly of The San Jose Mercury News talks about Aaron Rowand and his off season conditioning program to get him ready to hit lead off for the Giants.
- According to Anthony Castrovince of MLB.com, current Indians’ GM Mark Shapiro will be promoted to team president at the end of the 2010 season. Assistant GM Chris Antonetti will assume Shipiro’s GM role. Current team president Paul Dolan will assume the role of team chairman and chief executive officier.
