• Mike Puma of The New York Post says that pitcher Kelvim Escobar is frustrated with the right shoulder weakness he is experiencing originated while pitching in the Venezuelan Winter League.
• Kevin Kernan of The New York Post says that Sandy Koufax gave advice to pitcher Oliver Perez, “You can’t control the ball unless you can control your body, and just trying to make that simpler.” Koufax wanted Perez to focus on firing his hips through first to get into a nice easy throwing motion and try not to do too much.
