New York Mets Rumors: Wright and Reyes expect to win the World Series

According to Mike Puma of The New York Post, David Wright predicts that the 2010 Mets will win the World Series. Wright said, “We’re expecting to go out there and win the National League East and go deep in the playoffs and win the World Series. That is the expectation I’ve gotten from the guys who are here early, and I [expect] this team is to get back to where we are winning the National League East.”

Kevin Kernan of The New York Post spoke with Jose Reyes and he said that the is, “no doubt” that the Mets can win it all. Reyes says he feels good. He’s coming up on an option year in 2011 where the Mets hold an $11 million contract. “I don’t want to go anywhere,” he said. “I want to finish my career here.”

Fernando Nieve is considered the front runner for the final spot in the Met’s rotation, but he does not want to get too comfortable. He wants to work hard and gain his spot. (Source: Mike Puma of NYP)
