MLB Rumors: Burke, Beimel, Wellemeyer, Pridie, Hendrickson, Gabino, Taveras

- The San Diego Padres placed right-handed pitcher Greg Burke on unconditional waivers. This move allowed the team to free up a roster spot for Yorvit Torrealba. (Dan Hayes of the North County Times).
- Troy E. Renck of the The Denver Post says that left-handed pitcher Joe Beimel is unlikely to return to the Colorado Rockies.
- Jerry Crasnick of ESPN says that the Rockies have no interest in free agent pitcher Todd Wellemeyer.
- According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the New York Mets have claimed outfielder Jason Pridie from the Minnesota Twins.
- The Orioles made the Mark Hendrickson deal official and in doing so they had to designate right-handed pitcher Armando Gabino for assignment to make room on the 40 man roster. (Source: Spencer Fordin of MLB.com)
- According to Jane Lee of MLB.com, the Oakland Athletics have released outfielder Willy Taveras.
