Marlins sign RHP Mike MacDougal

2/18 17:14: According to Ken Rosenthal, MacDougal will make less than $1 million if he makes the club. He has the option to be released if he does not make the Big League roster.
2/18 17:07: According to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the Florida Marlins have signed former Washington Nationals closer Mike MacDougal to a Minor League contract and invitation to Spring Training.
MacDougal will provide late inning depth to the Marlins. Leo Nunez is expected to be the team’s closer.
MacDougal, 33 in March, was 11-1 with 3.60 ERA with 20 saves with the the Nationals in 2009. You can see MacDougal’s contract history and statistics here.
