According to ESPN, veteran first baseman Kevin Millar has reached a one-year, Minor League agreement with the Chicago Cubs. The deal is expected to become official later this week.
“It’s been a very slow market as you have seen this off season,” Millar said, “but things have worked out. I’m excited to have a chance to compete for a spot with the Cubbies. I have a lot of buddies on that team.”
Millar, 38, played with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2009. He hit .223 with 7 home runs and 29 RBIs in 78 games. Millar was a member of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox. You can see Millars contract history and statistics here.
