Erick Aybar and Angels avoid salary arbitration

According to The Los Angeles Times, shortstop Erick Aybar and the Los Angeles Angels have avoided going to salary arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $2.05 million deal that includes an additional $100,000 if he reaches 625 plate appearances.

Aybar was asking for $2.75 million and the Angels were offering $1.75 million.

Aybar, 26, hit .312 with 5 home runs and 58 RBIs with the Los Angeles Angels in 2009. You can see Aybar’s contract history and statistics here.
