Eric Gagne Rumors: Dodgers and Rockies may take a chance
By2/18 15:22: According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, the Colorado Rockies have offered Gagnet a Minor League contract. Harding says the Dodgers are still a factor.
2/17 10:23: Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated says that the Los Angeles Dodgers are the most likely landing spot for Gagne, but the Rockies are still in the mix since Gagne and manager Jim Tracy are close.
2/16 16:53: Thomas Harding of MLB.com says that Gagne was throwing in front of Rockies officials today.
2/16 09:49: According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, Gagne wants to be a Dodger again. The club has not made an offer to their former closer nor have they decided if they would make an offer.
2/16 01:26: According to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies have watched Eric Gagne throw and both teams may be willing to take a chance on the pitcher.
Gagne drew interest from the Phillies in January, but no contract was offered. The Phillies were looking for bullpen help since closer Brad Lidge may miss the start of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
Gagne’s contract was voided last season by the Milwaukee Brewers for failing his physical. As a starter in the independent Canadian-American League last summer, Gagne had a 6-6 record with a 4.65 ERA in 17 starts.
