The New York Daily News cites a New York Met’s insider who said the team could try to trade for Atlanta’s Tim Hudson, but the ideas was dismissed by a team official.

The Mets are in need of a starting pitcher and have long been linked to free agent Joel Pineiro. They attended Ben Sheets‘ public workout on Tuesday.

Hudson signed a three-three, $28 million deal to stay close to home in Atlanta and would have the right to refuse any deal, so it’s unlikely that he would accept the trade.
