Tigers and Joel Zumaya agree to contract and avoid arbitration
ByRight-handed reliever Joel Zumaya and the Detroit Tigers have agreed to a one-year, $915,000 contract and thus avoiding salary arbitration.
Zumaya, 25, was 3-3 with a 4.94 ERA in 29 games with the Tigers in an injury shortened 2009 season. He made $735,000.
