I think Lopez will be a Red Bird if they can work something out. He had a nice run with the team when he was with them in '08.

Craig was actually a third baseman when the Cards drafted him. He actually played most of the season in the OF last year, he saw some time at third and first as well. They changed his position after they drafted Brett Wallace and it looked as though he was going to be the team's third basemen for the next 10 years.

My guess as to why they are looking at moving him back to third is because he hit .320 with 26 homers at AAA last season, they need a place for him to play and with Matt Holliday, Ryan Ludwick, and Colby Rasmus in the outfield for the foreseeable future there is little chance of him seeing regular ABs as a backup outfielder next season. Another reason is Freese only played in 81 games last season and got a DUI over the winter so the team is probably down on him a bit.
