Update 1/26 15:20: Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports says that Garland’s deal is for one-year for $5.3 million which is $4.7 million plus $600,000 buyout on a $6.75 million mutual option for 2011.
Update 1/26 14:40: Brock adds that the deal is for one-year and pending a physical. The financial terms were not immediately known.
1/26 14:25: Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the San Diego Padres have signed RHP Jon Garland. Terms of the deal have not been announced.
Garland was being pursued by the Mets and Nationals this winter.
