Miguel Tejada Rumors: Going back to Oakland?

By Allan

Jorge Arangure Jr. of ESPN The Magazine reports, that free agent Miguel Tejada’s willingness to play any infield position will provide him with more opportunities.

Many teams such as Toronto, Oakland and St. Louis are in need of position players other than shortstop, the position that Tejada traditionally plays.  The A’s could bring Tejada back after losing out on Marco Scutaro and Adrian Beltre.  However, Sussan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle says that bringing back Tejada to Oakland is a “vague possibility”.

Tejada, 35, last played with Oakland in 2003.  Last season he hit .313 with 14 home runs and 86 RBIs for the Houston Astros while making a base salary of $13 million.

You can see Tejada’s contract history and statistics here.
