Los Angeles Dodgers sign infielder Nick Green to minor league contract
ByUpdate 13:04: According to Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, the Dodgers signed two other players to Minor League contracts with invitations to Spring Training – Scott Dohmann and Argenis Reyes.
Dohmann, 32, a right-handed pitcher played in Japan in 2009. He finished the year with the Diamondback’s Triple-A affiliate and went 0-1 with a 6.14 ERA.
Reyes, 27, played nine games with the Mets in 2009. He was 2 for 17 during his time in the Big Leagues last year. He played second base and short stop for the Mets.
11:35 According to Ken Rosenthal, the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed infielder Nick Green to a minor league contract. If Green makes the big league club, he would be the primary backup to incumbent shortstop Rafael Furcal.
Green, 31, played with the Boston Red Sox in 2009. He had a batting average of .236 and an on-base percentage of .303 while making $550,000. Green has played with the Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners in his career. Green underwent back surgery in November but should be ready for Spring Training.
