Kansas City Royals reach preliminary agreement with Scott Podsednik

Update 17:32: According to Ken Rosenthal, the deal for Podsednick is $1.75 million for one-year plus incentives that could bring the deal to $2 million.  There is a $2 million club upon for 2011 plus incentives that he can void if he reaches 525 plate appearances in 2010.

06:34am: According to Jerry CrasnickScott Podsednik has reached a preliminary agreement with the Kansas City Royals.  The deal is pending a physical on Friday.

Podsednik, 34 on Opening Day, hit .304 with a .353 on base percentage while with the Chicago White Sox in 2009.  The Royals will be Posednik’s fifth team since he entered the league with the Seattle Mariners in 2001.
