John Smoltz Rumors: Mets interested in old nemesis
ByThe New York Daily News reports that the New York Mets are considering John Smoltz to join the team for 2010. The Post goes on to say that Smoltz is “in the pool” of free agent pitchers the Mets are considering. Other possible free-agents for the Mets are left-hander Doug Davis, and right-handers Jon Garland and Joel Pineiro.
Smoltz was 3-8 with a 6.35 ERA in 15 games with the Red Sox and Cardinals while making $5.5 million in 2009.
