The Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels and New York Mets are interested in free agent pitcher Joel Pineiro.

ESPN The Magazine’s Buster Olney Tweets that the Angels are bidding for the right-hander.

It’s been widely known that the Dodgers and Mets have agressively pursued the free agent pitcher this winter . The Dodgers need a veteran starting pitcher to add to the rotation of Chad Billingsley, Clayton Kershaw and Hiroki Kuroda, but their financial handcuffs due to the McCourt divorce may prevent the team from signing Pineiro. It is believed that Pineiro has been looking for a Randy Wolf type of deal of three-years, $30 million. The Mets are in need of a starting pitcher, and Sporting News writer, Stan McNeal, says “With Pineiro on their side, the Mets wouldn’t have to worry so much about Oliver Perez, John Maine and Mike Pelfrey all having bounce-back seasons.”
