According to Ken Rosenthal, there are five teams interested in free agent Jerry Hairston Jr.  Among those that are interested are the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics.

Rosenthal goes on to say that a one-year deal will be in the $2-3 million range, but Hairston has multi-year deals on the table.

It was rumored yesterday that the Padres had Hairston on their radar.

Hairston, 33, hit 10 home runs, drove in 39 RBI’s and had a .251 batting average with the Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees in 2009.  He had a salary of $2 million.  You can see Hairston’s contract history and statistics here.
