According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the New York Mets have signed free agent Fernando Tatis to a one-year deal.
The deal will pay Tatis less than the $1.7 million he earned last season, but his salary could be close to that number based on incentives.
Tatis, 35, hit .282 with 8 home runs and 48 RBIs with the New York Mets in 2009. Tatis, a type-B free agent, was not offered salary arbitration this off season. You can see Fernando Tatis’ contract history and statistics here.
