Dan Uggla Rumors: The Marlins may re-sign the two-time All Star
ByAccording to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Florida Marlins are currently engaged in dialogue with Dan Uggla’s agent, Jeff Borris, about a contract for 2010.
Uggla is currently in his second year of arbitration. Last off season, the Marlins and Uggla could not agree to a contract for 2009, so it went to arbitration, and the ruling went in Uggla’s favor.
In 2009, Uggla made $5.35 million and his 2010 salary is expected to exceed $7 million according to Frisaro.
Uggla has been the subject of trade rumors all off-season. The Giants and Orioles had interest in the second baseman, but talks with those clubs have since stopped.
