Third baseman Mark Teahen signs 3 year contract with White Sox

Former Kansas City Royal third baseman Mark Teahan has agreed to a 3 year $14 million contract extension with the Chicago White Sox according to MLB.com.

Teahen,, 28, who was acquired by the White Sox from Kansas City on November 6 in exchange for Chris Getz and Josh Fields.  He hit .271, with 12 homeruns and 50 RBI’s while with the Royals.  He will earn $3.75 million in 2010, $4.75 million in 2011 and $5.5 million in 2012. Teahen was eligible to become a free agent following the 2011 season.
