ESPN.com analyzes the Brandon Morrow and Brandon League trade between the Seattle Marines and Toronto Blue Jays.

ESPN believes that this trade was the last part of the Roy Halladay – Cliff Lee blockbuster trade from last week.  It would explain why the Phillies sold Lee for three uninspiring prospects and why Seattle’s GM Jack Zduriencik would get less for a valued pitcher such as Morrow.

In the end, if Toronto required a high-upside arm to be part of the package they received for Halladay, and the Phillies got the Mariners to give that up, the trade is much more balanced from all three parties.
