Mets and Dbacks interested in 2B Adam Kennedy
ByThe New Y0rk Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks are showing the most interest in free agent second baseman Adam Kennedy.
The Mets, if they traded Luis Castillo, could sign Kennedy as a less expensive option than Orlando Hudson. The Diamondbacks are also looking for help at second base since they traded Felipe Lopez to the Brewers last July.
Three other teams also are showing interest in Kennedy, but for more of a super-utility role, one source said.
Kennedy, 34 on Opening Day 2010 batted .289 with 11 home runs and 63 RBIs for the A’s last season. He also stole 20 bases in 26 attempts. You can check out the rest of Kennedy’s stats here.
