14:38 PST: Buster Olney of ESPN.com Tweets that Halladay’s “vesting option based on him achieving level of durability close to what he’s shown last two seasons.”  Halladay played in 66 games, pitched in 485 innings and had 9 complete games over the last 2 seasons.  Olney goes on to say, “Could make $95.75 mil over next 5 years”.  He’s contracted to make $15.75 million in 2010, so that would make the 3 guaranteed years plus the 4th vesting year equal to $20 million per year.  You can see Halladay’s complete stats and contract information here.

14:16 PST: Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated confirms that Halladay will get a 3-year, $60 million extension with a 1 year vesting option.  Halladay already has 2010 guaranteed in his current contract, so the extension can keep him in Philadelphia until the end of the 2014 season.  Halladay also gets to stay home during Spring Training since his off season home is close to the Phillies training center.

Update 12/15/09 08:22 PST: Ken Rosenthal Tweets that the Roy Halladay extension is three-years in the $60 million range with a chance for a fourth year either guaranteed or vesting option, but this is all under discussion. ESPN.com reports that Halladay is currently taking a physical in Philadelphia.
