MLB.com reports that right-hander Grant Balfour has agreed to a one-year deal for $2.05 million.
Balfour, turning 32 this month, made $1.4 million with the Rays in 2009. Balfour has a career 14-9 record in 204 games with the Twins, Brewers and Rays. You can read his contract and statistic information here.
Balfour was one of five arbitration-eligible Rays players to have been tendered contracts by Saturday night’s 11:59 p.m. ET deadline. The other four are pitchers Matt Garza and J.P. Howell, outfielder B.J. Upton and shortstop Jason Bartlett.
