Update 5:06pm PST: According to Andrew Baggerly of the San Jose Mercury News, the multiple offers that are out in addition to infielder Mark DeRosa are 1B Nick Johnson and CF Scott Podsednik. In regards to Dan Uggla, GM Brian Sabean says, “We’re not in any trade discussions that are close to happening”. Baggerly also mentions that the Giants spoke with the agents for catcher Rod Barajas.
Update 2:01pm PST: According to ESPN Insider, the Red Sox, Twins, Yankees and Giants all have been mentioned as possible destinations for DeRosa, who also could re-sign with the Cardinals.
There have been reports that DeRosa is seeking a three-year contract worth as much as $9 million per season.
1:56pm PST: Andrew Baggerly of the San Jose Mercury News Tweets that the San Francisco Giants have multiple offers out to free agents, including Mark DeRosa. DeRosa his 23 home runs, drove in 78 RBI’s, and batted .250 for the Cardinals in 2009.
